Capital Research is a firm of genealogical agents specialising in finding beneficiaries of unclaimed estates. We carry out in-depth research using public records; censuses; birth, marriage and death certificates; and other sources to locate the proper heirs to monies, property and other assets left by relatives who have died without leaving a will.
Every year in the United Kingdom, thousands of people die without leaving a will. This is called dying intestate. In many cases there are no obvious heirs under the rules of intestacy, and if no heirs are found the deceased's estate goes to the state. Capital Research specialises in tracing relatives of the deceased who would be beneficiaries and carries out all work in submitting a claim to the Government Legal Department on behalf of these beneficiaries, and administers the estate once a claim has been accepted.
If a person dies without leaving a will and without known relatives there will be no one authorised to trace possible beneficiaries. It is possible that the estate remains unclaimed forever and persons entitled to an inheritance may never learn of their potential windfall.
When Capital Research learns of such an estate we carry out initial research at our own cost to find potential beneficiaries. Once we have found such people, we ask them to sign a commission agreement with us. The agreement sets out the services we will provide and defines the amount we will be paid to carry out the research, to obtain all relevant documents, to present the case on your behalf to the relevant authorities and to administer the estate. We are paid a part of the beneficiary's share of the estate. We never take any payment in advance.
Be assured that under this system you cannot inherit a debt. there are no hidden charges and all our fees are shown in the commission agreement. You cannot end up owing us any money. If a claim is not proven, ten we absorb all our expenses and write them off.
When we first contact potential beneficiaries we need to establish that we have contacted the right person and so we need to go through some family history to establish the links back to the deceased person and also to identify other potential beneficiaries. Once we have established this, we ask for our agreement to be signed so that we can act on the behalf of the beneficiary. There is a cooling off period after signing the document to retract the agreement if desired. If the heir agrees, then Capital Research will continue with processes in establishing all heirs and presenting the information to the authorities with a view to releasing the assets of the deceased for distribution.
